Well, after 6 weeks, I finally finished book 6 in Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes." 980 pages in hardback!!! This book was a welcome respite after book 5, "A Fiery Cross" which I found quite boring. In the dreary winter, reading this book, made me feel like I was home with friends and family after a long absence. I was saddened to read that last page knowing I'd not read another for a few more years when Ms. Gabaldon publishes what she indicates is the series finale.
I won't go into details about the book, but it advances the story into the Revolutionary war and ties up a few loose ends in the story arc. It has a definite ending of sorts, but it leaves the reader wondering what will happen in the next chapter of the lives of Claire and Jamie, Brianna and Roger. Ok...if I say anymore, I'll end up giving the ending away....so I'm stopping now. Suffice it to say, you won't be disappointed in this installment of the wildly successful and huge historical, time-travel series!
Onward I go back into some fantasy reading with debut author, Marie Brennan's "Doppelganger" witch series.
Hope the Groundhog didn't see his shadow and you get an early spring!!!
