I never thought I'd be someone who'd have 3 WIPs going at the same time. But I do! Ok, so I'm not really writing in each book every day, though. I'd totally lose my focus and my voice for that particular work. So last Thursday I stopped writing in Thirteen, despite my roll because I decided I needed to finish another work that was less than 6,000 words from completion. Um...hello...finish what you started, will ya! It was a book I stopped writing when my life turned upside down 2 years ago and my muse went into deep hiding.
I took the weekend off writing, to clear my mind, didn't think about Thirteen, and refocused on this older work. Let's just call it "Druid Island" for grins...for now. Wow! It took nothing to get back into this WIP. My characters and the story were still in my head. Of course, it didn't hurt that I had it fairly well outlined, including the final scenes. I'm so close to completion, I may even finish the first draft this weeked. We shall see. But the moral of the story is....finish what you started! And if it's still rolling around in your head after 2 years...it's meant to be written.
Nothing's going on with Chasing Shadows right now. My editor's off at the big RT Conference this week.
