What's Your Charm? Lucky in Love Blog Hop

**See Giveaway information below**
Good luck charms have been around forever. Many people who carry them truly believe they bring good luck. Their luck is usually a result of positive energy or faith. There are several types of lucky charms, and I’m not talking about the cereal!
Horseshoes are the most used universal symbol of good luck. Place a horseshoe previously worn by a horse in an upright position in the top right corner of your front door frame and it invites good luck to enter your house. Don’t place it upside down or you’ll invite bad luck!
Then we have talismans (yantras), lockets, lucky charm bracelets, Rudraksh nuts, the swastik, Oms, acorns and keys.
Good luck lockets have special effects because they’re worn in close physical contact with the wearer. Lucky charm bracelets have the same effect. One of the favorite types of good luck charms are four leaf clovers. Or in Irish terms, a Shamrock, which is my personal favorite (being that I’m part Irish!).
So what about love and romance, you ask? The acorn is one of the few good luck charms that’s supposed to bring the wearer love and wealth. A trio of keys is said to attract the opposite sex. Two keys represent health and wealth and an Aphrodite's heart represents charm.
Anything can be a good luck charm. You just need to believe. Even rabbit foot charms have been known to bring luck to the bearer (maybe not the rabbit!).
Question:  What’s your lucky charm and did it ever bring you love?
Pre-Order Vigilante Nights now at Amazon or your favorite bookseller. I’ll have a special swag gift for people who pre-order it. Details coming soon!
Upcoming Release:  Vigilante Nights
Genre:  YA Contemporary (w/magic realism)
Release Date:  July 18, 2013
Format:  Hardcover, eBook
"This book grabs you from page one and doesn't ever let up!" (Georgia McBride, author of Praefatio)
A "good boy" will do anything for vengeance when a gang rite kills his twin sister. Will Lucas win, or follow his sister Silver into the darkness?
Lucas is headed for college on a football scholarship when he drives into the middle of a gang rite and ends up in a coma. When he wakes, he finds his life literally smashed to pieces:  his sister dead, his college hopes destroyed—even the vintage Camaro he prized is trashed.
Lucas begins to think the accident fried his brains when he hears Silver everywhere. Bent on revenge, he forms a vigilante club of “good” kids to avenge her—despite the fact that his new love, Tara, has helped fill the void in his life. But even Tara can’t close the wound of Lucas’s hurt. Hiding his double life from his parents, Lucas not only ends up a target, he discovers the high cost of payback.
Filled with romance, loss, and the threat of violence against new love, Vigilante Nights is reminiscent of the S.E. Hinton classic novel The Outsiders, Alice Hoffman’s Property of, as well as Jenny Downham’s critically acclaimed novel, You Against Me.

I don't think i have a lucky charm...I used to wear a necklace with dance slipper charm that was my moms(still have it) when i ran track... I ran hurtles and I used to think if i thought light i could run faster... I was on Varsity all though high school so i couldn't have been that bad. I am lucky in love married my high school sweetheart, we are going on 14 years together and hitting 10 years married in June... with two boys, two dogs and a turtle so that is pretty good.

Interesting question! I don't have a specific lucky charm. I do have "worry stones" that I rub when I'm thinking, worried, or looking for a little luck. They didn't help me find love...but I have been lucky in love!

No lucky charms here... Unless you wanna go count the lucky stuff we did for our ceremony yesterday... We eloped on 3.13.13 cause of the numbers (131 can be twisted around to create a heart and then the numbers 3 & 3 at begining end can create the effinity symbol as well as a clover)..We had been dating for the last 12 years.
Some of the family had some issues with elopement and we did a ceremony ...
With the luck of the Irish and my quick thinking I managed to create a surprising great with very little hick-ups wedding ceremony within 5 days...

I have a few good luck charms and I tend to do strange little things that are sort of superstitious (I hope I didn't spell that too terribly wrong) that could be looked at as things that are done to ward off bad luck leading to sort of being good luck charms (if that makes sense). I have things such as a good luck penny and a sticker of a bear dressed in an Irish out that says "luck of the Irish" in my old trumpet case from 4th grade (that would be the 80's so that was a long time ago!) that my friend gave me the first day of my first lesson that I always kept in there and took to band concerts and such. They are both still in there. Umm I have more but this post would be crazy long.

I really enjoyed reading your information about good luck charms! I was reading some of it out loud to the family.

I think if I won this I would totally go for the necklace as it's drop dead beautiful. Stunning. As for the book, I am going to write it down and get it anyway because it most certainly needs to be added to my to read list (along with a few others that I saw while browsing)!

Thank you for the chance to enter :D Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone :)

I'm very Irish but I don't have a personal lucky charm, but I do believe in them.

I don't know that luck has any bearing on having a successful relationship. It's a whole lot of work. I married my high school sweetheart right out of high school. We have been married for 17 years.

It's a shame That the necklace is only for the U S. I would still enjoy the book though.
I think the dragon on the necklace I wear as my lucky charm might eat the clover. :-)

I do not have any lucky charms but I know when I was younger I had stuff that I believed was good luck... Like my Grandmothers wedding ring (she'd passed away). So I definitely believe.. hadn't heard of the horseshoe above the door... makes you wonder if its the right as your facing the door inside to go outside or if its on the right side as your facing the door to go inside the house? Hmmm ;) I wouldn't mind inviting some luck into my house :D

Hope you had a fantastic St. Patricks Day!

I have a lucky pair of underwear... and yes, it did ; )
What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I'm working on it. My favorite love book is "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty's Day and this year I'm spending it with my best friend. We're going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I'm not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I'm not at all. I won't be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I'm Irish.
Thanks for the giveaway!
